We get asked sometimes how we create our songs. Except for rare cases like "Threat Comes "Apart", from our debut album, "Young Blood Old Tricks", which was written section by section, we create our songs by recording the band improvising. We listen back and decide together whether there are any pieces that we can make songs from. This collection is a peek behind the curtain. These are several improvisations over the four-plus years we have been playing together as Y-BOT. Most of the recording quality is quite low-fi as most of the time it is recorded live via stereo to a digital recorder. Some of these have become songs but have yet to be professionally recorded. The ones that are songs have been "tweaked" and tidied-up, but are pretty much very close to the original versions. The listener will hopefully get the jist of how the band develops our music organically. These improvisations are presented in reverse chronological, dated order. Enjoy!
